I have recently found/joined this forum and have to say thx.  I have been reading off and on over the last week (and will continue to do so for a while to come).
I am about 16 months away from retiring from the US Navy and have been thinking of trying the Philippines. (1st for a month or so to see how I like it)  The information here is and will continue to be invaluable!  Thanks to all who have shared their experiences.

Welcome Jeff,

Yes this forum is  loaded with info and helped me out allot...if you have a specific question and can't find the answer here, just post your question.  I spent 10.5 years in the Navy then 16 years with the Coast Guard and just moved in Sept to the RP....live near Cebu in Lapu-Lapu.

Welcome southern92.   Grin

Browse through our many topics and posts to find the answers to any of your questions about living in the Philippines.  If you still don't have an answer to a specific question than just ask.  Our many members are friendly and eager to help.

And it's a pleasure to welcome another Navy vet to the group.  I think we far outnumber those "other" services now.    Cool  Welcome aboard!   Grin

Jeff,

from a former US Army grunt, welcome to the group!  It's always a pleasure to see another former serviceman join our ranks (even if you are a squid)  Roll Eyes  Grin Grin Grin  Joke lang!  Sorry, but I had to yank your anchor chain a bit.   Smiley Smiley  Since you Navy guys probably now outnumber us "other" former servicemen, I felt it was my duty.   Wink  Cheesy Cheesy

Seriously, buddy, if you have any questions, just ask away.  We're always happy to assist another guy who's interested in the Philippines.  You'll find someone in our group living in, or working his way towards, virtually every province of the RP from north to south.  If we don't have the answers, we'll help you with the research.

By searching each of the boards and topics you'll find a ton of information concerning every aspect of life in the Philippines.  We discuss everything from cost of living to construction, from visas to relationships.  All in all, you'll find us a very helpful, friendly community, always looking for another friend and neighbor.

I look forward to "seeing" more of you on LinPC!   Smiley
