Let me disabuse you of the idea that Davao may not be safe. It's without doubt the safest place I've ever lived and I have lived in lots of places. There's almost no street crime,and foreigners, since I've been here, have never been targetedby anyone. As to CDO being "friendlier," I have to disagree. I like CDO a lot, and I go there often, but I do not find it friendlier than Davao. It's also lots smaller and there's not as much to do, but it is somewhat less expensive, though not much.
