My monthly costs for my family in Maasin City are as follows:

There are five people living in a three bedroom 1st floor apartment in the Barangay of Asuncion. This is just around the corner from the Provincial Capitol offices for Southern Leyte.

The apartment is large and spacious with a master bedroom and ensuite. There is an A/C for the master bedroom and bedroom, one ceiling fans are in the kitchen, lounge room and bedroom two.

2 X TV's, 2 x VCR's, 1 x home theatre, Frig, water cooler / heater, washing machine. i x karaoke.

Another CR and shower are also present.

We have a Honda CRV and Honda motor cycle.

Rent is P6, 000 per month.

Electricity is approx 6,000 per month.

Combined Telephone/Mobiles are 1,500 per month.

Food, Rice and other groceries are 10,000 per month.

House water is 1,000 per month.

Bottled water is 1,500 per month.

Bottled Gas is 1,000 per month.

Petrol for car and bike is 2,000 per month.

Pet food for various animals is 1,000 per month.

Spare cash for incidentals like medications, dining out etc is 5,000 per month.

Total Cost to live in Maasin City, Southern Leyte P$35,000

Most expensive month so far spent was P$50,000 due to an hospital stay of five days.
